Welcome to 2007!
We’re starting the year here as we mean to go on, with a number of newly posted reviews and features written by our own Randall Cyrenne. As well as casting his eye over Sony/Classic Media’s recent box set release of The Dick Tracy Show: The Complete Animated Crime Series, Rand has bulked up our backlog of reviews with three titles: Clutch Cargo: The Complete Series – Volume One, the collector’s edition of Heavy Metal and the very nice package put together by Warner Home Video for Tim Burton’s wonderful Corpse Bride.
Randall also takes a look back at the career of a pair of animation legends, one of which, the irreplaceable Joe Barbera, we only lost recently, so Hanna And Barbera: A Cartoon Appreciation comes at a fitting time and is a recommended read!
Lastly – for now – look for our exclusive tour of the Disney art exhibition currently being staged in Paris (until January 15 – European readers just have time to make it and it can not be recommended highly enough!), which will finally be posted later today. I’ve been proof reading it all night (how’s that a way to spend New Year’s Eve!?) and think it’s ready to roll, so back soon with that update.
– Ben.
