Membership Information
Aloha! In the spring of 2008 a grassroots effort led by committed and concerned community members has led to the formation of a new group the “Friends of Ka’ena”. This group is committed to working with all parties (government, business, organizations and individuals) needed to achieve the mission of this new organization which is: To enhance, maintain and protect the natural and cultural resources of Ka’ena for present and future generations through active community stewardship, education, and partnerships.

As we are currently taking the necessary steps to be a recognized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, we have partnered up and are working with the YMCA of Honolulu, Camp Erdman branch to allow us to raise funds and start projects and programs to support this important effort. All of the money raised through memberships and donations will be used to support the work for the Friends of Ka’ena.

Business Organization: $100
*non voting member

After 90 days of paid membership, members are entitled to one vote at the annual meeting and any special membership meetings.

* All proceeds are deposited into a special YMCA of Honolulu account that is separate from the YMCA operating budget and will only be used to support the Friends of Ka’ena projects and initiatives. The YMCA of Honolulu is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization. Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
