The Friends of Kaena have resumed our monthly hikes and has moved them to the second Saturday of the month beginning this past Saturday 12-13-14. Next hike is scheduled for January 10th, 2015. Enjoy some of the photos taken while visiting the State’s Natural Area Reserve. The Moli (Laysan Albatross) have returned and are nesting. the lone Hawaiian Monk Seal pictured is named Kaena. He was born right at this spot. All photos were taken from the trail and within the required distance to allow the animals the least amount of disturbance. Please respect our wildlife.
